Headphones sponge protection

Scenario: There are some headphones with a damage sponge protection. What to do?
Option 1 - Buy some new headphones (option "have-lots-of-money")
Option 2 - Buy some new sponges, if possible (option "do-not-want-to-worry")
Option 3 - Buy some used sponges (option "must-have-used-parts-not-worth-to-buy-new")
Option 4 - patch the sponges (option "if-socks-can-be-patched-sponge-can-too")

Perform all of the above except the fourth, just look for who sales. Option 4 is not so "obvious."
option 4
You will need:
needle (the finer the better)
line-color sponge
some ease-in tailoring
execution:
Sew the tear like half not tight since the sponge is fragile.

And voila, no longer have to worry about until the seam hold.

Note: In my case, it only pass one day but I will give more feedback. LOL.
